Hot Runner Structural Considerations
The value a hot runner system adds to a mold is well established. Manufacturing efficiency is often substantially increased over cold runner tooling.
Hot runner equipped tooling can also be difficult and inefficient.
There are three major points of concern:
1. Dimensional errors associated with integration of the hot runner system.
2. Mechanical or structural failure of the hot runner product itself.
3. Structural failure of the mold frame or hot runner support structure.
